Overview

If you have a passion for great food and drinks, and more importantly excellent customer service, we would like to connect with you regarding our Lead Bartender position. As the Lead Bartender, you will be at the forefront of delivering an exceptional guest experience by overseeing the bar operations, crafting high-quality beverages, and ensuring a welcoming and energetic atmosphere. This role combines expert mixology skills with strong leadership to train, support, and inspire the bar team. You’ll also play a key part in maintaining inventory, upholding cleanliness standards, and collaborating with management to enhance the overall beverage program.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards and anticipate and address guests` service needs.
  • Take orders, prepare, and serve food, alcoholic, and non-alcoholic beverages to guests, courteously and efficiently according to hotel specifications. 
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages as well as the ability to handle guest complaints in a professional manner.
  • Consistently follow proper protocols for handling intoxicated or disruptive guests including proper documentation and filing of incident according to ABRA/local laws.
  • Maintain stock and supplies, as well as assisting in monthly inventory and ordering.
  • Set up bar and bar area according to outlet’s standards, ensuring that bars are well-stocked.
  • Ensure that the bar and restaurant area are organized and clean throughout the day.
  • Knowledge of all specialty cocktail ingredients, garnishes, and recipes. He/She must have the ability to answer questions from both guests and Colleagues regarding the menu and drink selections
  • Take the lead in creating and setting up house cocktails that are balanced, innovative, and cost effective.
  • Participate & Lead in updated training for beverages, and beverage service standards for new hires and refresher trainings. He/She must ensure that all Colleagues are following Standards of Service.
  • Communicate and work closely with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, orders, and product availability.
  • Experience and knowledge on restaurant POS systems at time of order – ALOHA preferred.
  • Complete closing duties (specified below)
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors and/or Managers.

In addition to the listed responsibilities above, the Lead Bartender will be responsible for the following closing duties:

  • Reports dropped in proper area.
  • Cash drop properly secured and deposited.
  • Complete prep list for following shift and 86’d/ordering needs for bar.
  • Ensure all terminals and servers/bartenders have hit end of shift re-set.
  • All LBW areas are closed and secured, keys signed out at end of night.
  • All outlets are clean, secured, and set for next shift.
  • Checks are properly closed and allocated to correct accounts.
  • Voids and Comps are properly initialed along with reasoning.
  • Assist in monthly LBW inventory count.
  • Assist in training new employees.
  • Maintaining proper bar bible.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 60 pounds without assistance.
  • Can walk and stand for up to 8 hours.
  • Has current TIPs and ABRA certifications, or the ability to acquire required certifications within 60 days of employment.
  • 1-year(s) experience as a Bartender in a fast paced, high-volume establishment.
  • Must have proficient command of the English language.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Provide outstanding memorable customer service and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Knowledgeable of credit card and cash handling procedures, as well as recording accurate tip-out sheets, and calculating accurate bill amounts.
